Abstract: Software architecture is a dynamic and evolving field that requires constant questioning of assumptions and axioms. Recent innovations in software development related to hardware and software infrastructure have dramatically changed the environment in which programmers work. This article analyses the capabilities and trade-offs of different architectural styles and patterns in the modern environment, considering all the recent innovations and trends.
