| dc.description.abstract | The article addresses the problem of quantitative assessment and justification of availability requirements for military
communication systems. The physical essence of availability is formulated as the ability to provide physical (electrical or electro
magnetic) contact with the transport network. A composite desirability indicator based on the Harrington desirability function is in
troduced, which accounts for both the probability of access and the completeness of message transmission. Quantitative threshold
values of availability probability are obtained for three importance groups of communication directions. The proposed approach ena
bles the transition from qualitative descriptions to measurable target indicators. | en_US |
