| Abstract: | Long-term data on resources sapropel of Belarus were summarized. Total reserves of sapropel in the Republic are about 4 billion m3, of which 2.7 billion m3 are concentrated in lakes and 1.3 billion m3 lies under the peat layer. The characteristic of sapropel-raw materials for production of sapropelic therapeutic muds. Depending on the ratio of organic and mineral components the sapropel is divided into types: organic, siliceous, carbonate and mixed. Therapeutic effects sapropelic cure mud on human organism has been shown. |
