| Abstract: | We introduce the classification of the parallel machine problems with the total machine cost, which is based on the form of the cost density functions. The primary attention is focused on the problems with the linear non-increasing cost density functions. For identical and uniform parallel machine problems of minimizing the sum of the total (weighted) completion time and the total machine cost some results are reported. |
