Alternative abstract: The article examines the physical mechanisms of downforce generation in Formula 1 cars through the use of Venturi tunnels. Based on the Bernoulli and continuity equations, the influence of the channel geometry on the pressure drop is analyzed. Optimal flow convergence and divergence angles, interaction with the boundary layer, and the influence of the turbulent wheel wake are considered.
